Building Capacity for Women in Red Seal Trades

Trades training works best when it works for everyone. Building Capacity for Women in Red Seal Trades was developed to equip trades students and instructors with the tools and techniques to foster inclusive, welcoming learning environments.

Working closely with Trades Training Development, Plumbing and Pipe Trades instructors, and instructional designers, the project took shape as a comprehensive interactive online course. The collaboration was hands-on and iterative; meeting regularly over several months to refine ideas, strategies, and content. To ensure brand consistency across the full scope of the project, new platforms including Articulate 360 and D2L were quickly brought into the workflow.

The visual and interactive elements span a wide range; a logo and style sheet, custom icons, quiz templates, posters, fillable forms, social media ads, and motion graphics for promotional videos. The course pilot was met with enthusiasm and marks an important step toward more inclusive trades education across the province.
